Two months ago, I don’t think any of us believed that we would still be in a distance learning mode through the end of the school year! We are now at the time when Masa is usually beginning to wind down into summer mode, but in a lot of...Read more...

Our B-Mitzvah class helped us to start off the week with a really lovely prayer service. I am always impressed by their thoughtfulness and their ability to connect the words and themes of our tradition to our lives today. (Check out this week’s newsletter for some thoughtful...Read more...

We are continuing to find ways of getting through this time of social distancing. I hope that you and your family are also finding things you can enjoy!

Jonathan’s class is continuing to work on Hebrew blessings, and would like to begin reading some books together. Parents: please let me or Jonathan know if your child has a copy of The Adventures of Rabbi Harvey. Please also let us know whether your student is comfortable...Read more...

I hope that you are all managing to find some things to be grateful for during this challenging time. I’ve had the chance to sit in on some of the Zoom classes, and it’s been fun to practice some Hebrew Through Movement with our students, and inspiring to see the different ways students are continuing to build community!

I know that, particularly for our younger students, it can be challenging to handle yet another class in the...Read more...

It has been nice to begin "seeing" our Masa and BHA community via Zoom.

Last Friday, we had a gathering for Mini Minyan, followed by a communal candle lighting and BHA's more adult-oriented Friday night services. Several adults in our community joined when it was time to light candles, and even though we were each in our own homes, it was lovely to share the candle lighting with other members! If you have Shabbat candles, have them...Read more...

Dear Masa families,

This has certainly been a time with a great deal of change and disruption to our lives. I am sending hope that you and your family have been healthy, and that you have all that you need right now.

Your child’s Masa teachers have been reaching out to families, both to see how you are doing and to shape their Masa experience in a new digital format. If your child’s teacher hasn’t connected with...Read more...
