Our B-Mitzvah class helped us to start off the week with a really lovely prayer service. I am always impressed by their thoughtfulness and their ability to connect the words and themes of our tradition to our lives today. (Check out this week’s newsletter for some thoughtful words of Torah from our B-Mitzvah class!) Even though we haven’t been able to celebrate this transition in the way we’d hoped, our young folks are taking on the responsibilities of Jewish adulthood!
In our age-group classes, we have continued to learn about the Omer. Wendy’s and Carole’s classes are learning about exploring values during this time on the Jewish calendar, as well as learning about the holiday of Lag Ba’Omer. Debbie’s class has focused on learning how to count in Hebrew, and beginning to understand how Hebrew letters are also used as numbers. Jonathan’s class has been exploring the spiritual aspects of the Omer. All of the students are continuing to work on Hebrew learning. Our older students have even begun to recognize some of the vocabulary they have learned in Hebrew Through Movement in the prayers we say!
We will NOT be having Masa this Sunday, in observance of Mothers’ Day. I hope that your children take the opportunity to celebrate you!
Coming up:
Mini Minyan will be at 6:00 on Friday in the BHA Public Zoom room. Bring Shabbat candles to light with the community at 6:30!
