Cemetery

In 1930, newly elected BHA President, David Alper was tasked with obtaining a tract of land to be used as a burial ground for BHA members.  The land on the West side of Osbourne Hill in Fishkill, formerly owned by Thomas Hunt and his wife Evelyn, was dedicated on October 25, 1930 as the Beacon Hebrew Alliance Cemetery.

Today, the BHA cemetery, located at 274 Osbourne Hill Road in Fishkill is open to members of the synagogue including mishpoche members. Fees are as follows:

  • Purchase of Plot $2500
  • Plot Reservation $500
  • Fee for Grave Opening $1000
  • One time Maintenance Charge $1000
  • Refundable deposit against installation of a monument $1500

The plot fee is reduced $500 a year for each of the first five years of membership to a minimum of $500. If neither the deceased nor their immediate relative is a member of BHA, the fee is $2500 + membership dues for that year. No members of BHA are turned away from our cemetery for financial reasons.
