Join Rabbi Brent on Friday nights at the pavilion at the University Settlement Camp (USC) for a soulful exploration of the weekly Torah portion. This year we'll be traveling through the text with the writings of contemporary thinker, Rabbi Shai Held and his two volume collection, The Heart of Torah.
Many of us were privileged to hear Rabbi Held when he spoke at BHA in January 2020. He is widely considered to be one of the most important teachers of Torah in this generation, and he brings mind and soul together in an extraordinary heart-centered approach to Torah and life.
Source sheets will be available online, and if you are planning on being part of the group regularly, I encourage you to get your own copy of the books, either as a hardcover set, or as two separate paperback volumes here and here.
Our Schedule:
- 5PM Heart of Torah adult learning (most weeks, please check our calendar) This will be streamed on BHA's FaceBook page. Times for streaming are approximate due to possible technical difficulties. Please do not try contact BHA or clergy during live streams.
- 5:30PM Mini-Minyan (most weeks, please check our calendar) This will NOT be streamed online.
- 6pm Davvening (adults and kids) This will be streamed on BHA's FaceBook page. Times for streaming are approximate due to possible technical difficulties. Please do not try contact BHA or clergy during live streams.
Parking:
You can see a map of where we’ll be meeting here. We recommend you enter the park at the northern entrance, bear right and proceed up the hill. Parking spaces, including handicapped spaces, are located at the camp office near where we are meeting at the pavilion. When that parking is full, please proceed down to the pool parking lot near the southern most entrance.
What to Bring:
Please bring picnic blankets and/or lawn chairs that you are comfortable sitting on and a picnic dinner for your family if you wish. We’ll ask that people set up at least 10 feet apart from each other; at that distance we are not mandating that everyone wear masks, though of course, those who wish to do so are welcome to.
Yes, we will still be streaming online:
We hope to have internet access there so that we can broadcast our learning and davvening via BHA's FaceBook page. We do not intend to keep making use of zoom for services. Times for streaming are approximate due to possible technical difficulties. Please do not try contact BHA or clergy during live streams.
Inclement Weather:
In the event of light rain, we can easily move into the open walled pavilion and maintain adequate distance; if the forecast calls for heavy rain, we’ll move entirely on-line via BHA's FaceBook page.
