Getting Ready for Our Grandfriends

Folks who arrived early for pickup last Sunday got a treat! The children were learning some songs, and their voices blended quite beautifully. Some people have asked about listening to the songs we sing at Masa when they’re at home. Here is a link to a Spotify playlist with some of the songs we’re learning.

We’ve been busy getting ready for Grandfriends Day at Masa. The children have prepared artwork to decorate the social hall. They’ve written skits and learned songs to entertain their Grandfriends. I’m sure they’re all looking forward to greeting everyone who joins us with cheerful faces (as they’ve learned from Pirkei Avot).

Please make sure to register your child, whether or not they have a Grandfriend of their own joining them. We want to make sure that every child has a Grandfriend, and we want to make sure that the community members who have volunteered to serve as Grandfriends will have the chance to get to know a Masa student!

Masa students should arrive promptly at 9:30, so that we will have time to finish our preparations before our Grandfriends join us at 11:00!

Thanksgiving is coming next week. There will not be Masa on Friday or Sunday. Please make sure to bring in non-perishable food for the food pantry. We provide food for students at one of the local high schools, and for some of them, this donated food is the only food they get when school is not in session!

Coming up:

Friday: Masa, 4:00-6:00. Mini Minyan at 5:30. Blessings, kiddush, and potluck at 6:00. Friday night services at 7:00.

Sunday: Masa, 9:30-12:30. Grandfriends Day from 11:00-12:30.

NO MASA Friday, November 29 or Sunday, December 1. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

BHA Community Chanukkah Party, Friday, December 20, 5:00-7:00.
