Rabbi Brent Spodek

I’m excited to share some learning opportunities starting up soon! One is for children, two are for adults.

  • For adults on Saturday afternoons: Starting on October 17, we’ll be studying the Art of Heresy through the lives and teachings of two of Judaism’s most important heretics - Alisha ben Abuya and Baruch Spinoza. This class was canceled last Spring, but now will meet on line with an option for in-person gatherings for BHA members. For more information and registration, please click here
  • For kids: We understand that families may be reluctant to sign up for more Zoom time. We’ve created an “a la carte” option for Masa. Please join Julia for an info session on Sunday the 11th or on Wednesday the 14th to learn more details about the “a la carte” option and about how Masa is working this year. We’d also love to hear your ideas for the best ways to keep your children connected to BHA!

  • For adults on Friday afternoons: Starting on October 16, we’ll be studying the weekly Torah reading along with the teachings of Rabbi Shai Held, President, Dean, and Chair in Jewish Thought at the Hadar Institute, who taught at BHA last year. We’ll meet at 5:00 PM, before Friday night davvening, and no registration is needed for this class; more information and readings are here

Learning Torah is one of the most nourishing joys of my life, and I hope to be able to share that joy with you. Please follow the links to sign up, and if you have any questions regarding these classes, please be in touch.

With blessings,

Rabbi Brent
