Summary |
The great medieval mystic known as the Ramban famously said that Jewish families don't come together in order to celebrate the holidays; instead, we have holidays in order to bring Jewish families together.
We’re coming up on Passover, one of our major family gathering holidays - seders are on the evenings of April 8 and 9 this year. In order to help more people eat more matzah and get more liberated from their narrow places, we are organizing a Seder Match. Think of it as “Airbnb for Seders” - we’re going to be matching up guests and hosts! Here’s how it all works:
-
HOSTING: If you are a member of BHA who is interested in making seats at your seder available to others, please fill out this form by March 20th, 2020.
-
GUESTING: If you ARE interested in joining a member of BHA for a seder in their home, fill out this form by March 25th, 2020.
-
SEDER LEADING: If you are going to be leading a seder, please make it awesome! Come join a workshop on Thursday, April 2 to talk through ways of making liberation something that can happen in your living room, at your seder!
And, some other resources that might be handy as we get ready to be liberated
-
Women’s Seder: Cantor Ellen will again be leading a women’s seder at the Beacon Rec Center on Sunday, March 29. Details and registration are here.
-
Kashrut + Selling Hametz: If you are looking for some guidance on how to make your home kosher for Passover, you can find that here, and if you want to sell the hametz you have in your possession, you can use this form.
Having seder at home - either as a host or a guest - is an opportunity for more members of the BHA community to connect directly with each other, contributing to a stronger community and a more liberated world.
May we soon be in a time when all people can enjoy the fruits of liberation!
