Sale of Hametz

To the greatest degree possible, all hametz – food not acceptable during Pesah, should be destroyed or given away before the holiday begins. Should this be impossible, the hametz may be stored in such a way that we are sure not to use it during the holiday. This form will authorize Rabbi Brent Spodek to sell that hametz, stored in your basement, to Reverend Benjamin Larson-Wolbrink of the First Presbyterian Church of Beacon who, as a non-Jew, is not prohibited from owning hametz over Pesach.

I, the undersigned, fully empower and permit Rabbi Brent Chaim Spodek to act in my behalf to sell all hametz possessed by me – knowingly or unknowingly – as defined by Torah and rabbinic law, and to lease all places wherein hametz owned may be found. This transaction will be in effect from 10 AM on Wednesday, April 8, and runs through 9 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

It is customary to fulfill the mitzvah of ensuring that all who are hungry can eat while fulfilling the mitzvah of selling hametz. To that end, we invite you to make a contribution to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
