Picnic Dinner + Simchat Torah Parade: An Open to the Sky Event
Sunday, October 20, 2019 • 21 Tishrei 5780
5:30 PM - 8:00 PMBeacon Hebrew Alliance, 331 Verplanck Avenue, Beacon NYJoin us for an epic simchat torah celebration! We will meet at the Open to the Sky sukkah at 5:30pm for a bring-your-own dinner picnic. From there, we will set out at 6:30pm, parade-style, to dance down Main Street to BHA. The celebration will continue at BHA. Not to be missed!
Simchas Torah is the raucous celebration of the Truth of Torah. Our Torah is not simply words on the page – it is the lives we live.
Simchat Torah is when we celebrate the truth of our actual lives. Our real, imperfect relationships and our real, imperfect jobs and our real, imperfect houses. The Torah is full of ugly moments and transcendent ones, rapes and betrayals alongside revelation and redemption. On Simchas Torah, we celebrate the beauty of the truth we find in the Torah and in our lives as well. Come to sing and dance with us!
All of the programs of Open to the Sky are offered without charge; however, there are (of course) costs associated with the construction and maintenance of this project and others like it. If you can help support Open to the Sky with a donation of any size, please click here.
