Community Potluck: An Open to the Sky Event

Sunday, October 13, 2019 14 Tishrei 5780

5:30 PM - 7:00 PMPolhill Park, 9D & Main St., Beacon

A fall evening is the perfect time to share a meal with friends and neighbors in the great outdoors!

Absolutely everyone is welcome to come and eat under the sukkah. In addition to noshing, we'll be singing and meeting friends old and new.

Please bring dinner AND dinnerware for your group (we are trying to cut down on plastic/paper waste) as well as something to share, if you have extra. Vegetarian food only, please!

We'll provide the apple cider and dessert! If you have any questions about this potluck, please be in touch with Prue Posner of Jennifer Morris

Open to the Sky is a reimagining of the ancient Jewish holiday of Sukkot. A sukkah (pronounced sue-kah) is a  sand mandala of a building, open to the sky and used for seven days around the time of the fall harvest and then dismantled. It's rickety and tenuous, creating the illusion of permanence and highlighting the impermanence of everything. For more information about the holiday and Open to the Sky, please click here

All of the programs of Open to the Sky are offered without charge; however, there are (of course) costs associated with the construction and maintenance of this project. If you can help support Open to the Sky with a donation of any size, please click here.
