Days of Awe: Tashlich at Long Dock Park

Sunday, September 17, 2023 2 Tishrei 5784

4:00 PM - 7:00 PMLong Dock Park, Beacon

The leaves will soon begin to turn and we will wake from the sleep of summer to fall’s energy and potential and the Jewish start to the year. This is the season of intention and connection, the season to renew our spirits, reconnect to community and rediscover the holy.

These are the Days of Awe.

PARTICIPATION

For Tashlich, we gather on the banks of the Hudson River to cast off crumbs of bread symbolizing the stale narratives and old habits of mind that we want to be free of in the coming year.

This is an opportunity to reflect on the lives we are living and the aspirations we are both pursuing and forgetting. It’s a time for thinking about who we really are, and accounting for whether we are living in right relationship with ourselves, our family, our friends, and the Holy One of Blessing.

We'll be meeting at Long Dock Park in Beacon, see the map below. Feel free to bring some stale bread to cast off and some food to share. Please bring a blanket and picnic dinner so we can linger and spend some time together at the river.
