CANCELED Community Purim Megillah Reading
Monday, March 9, 2020 • 13 Adar 5780
6:00 PM - 9:00 PMBHA, 331 Verplanck Ave., Beacon NYThere ain’t no party like a Purim Party because a Purim Party don’t stop!
Until about 10:00, maybe 10:30 - then things really do start to wind down. It’s late, it's a school night and we just don’t bounce back from late nights the way we used to!
But, until then, we’ll be rocking out with a re-telling of Purim story for the whole family. Everyone is welcome, with lots of roles to fill and the traditional reading of the megillah, plenty of hamentashen and the story we need for the upside-down world we're living in today.
Here's the plan, and as is well known, things always go according to plan, particularly on Purim.
-
6:00 PM Kids progam, including a costume parade and kid friendly Megilah reading (no sex, no violence, no problems)
-
7:00 PM Ma'ariv, followed by the whole megilah - complete with sex, violence and problems.
Come in costume and bring food and drink to share. Bring a box of pasta to shake as a grogger (as well as other shelf stable food!). We’ll contribute to the Community Action Partnership as part of the obligation to provide matanot l'evonim - gifts of sustenance to those in need.
