Summary |
We spent this Sunday connecting l'dor v'dor, from generation to generation. Our students had time to sit and talk with grandfriends they already knew and with new friends they met that day.
Grandfriends Day at Masa lets children to make connections with adults, and lets adults get to know the children of our community. I hope that everyone else enjoyed the children's singing and Donna Kushner's lovely violin playing.
I am grateful to the people who went above and beyond with helping to make this event possible:
- Dan and Sienna Tanaka and Anna and Jay Marcus provided snacks.
- Dan Tanaka and Jesse Lunin-Pack for making sure that snacks got set up.
- Anna Marcus and Sandra Mort for taking pictures during the event.
- All of the Masa teachers for helping to keep everything running smoothly.
-
Brent and Deb for taking the time to speak to everyone gathered at the event.
- Ellen for help in organizing the event and for guiding us in singing.
- Karen Meyer, Laura Liebeck, Prue Posner, Joan Pirie, and Michael Nurik for cleaning up in the kitchen (I was truly surprised when I went into the kitchen to clean up after our teacher meeting, only to discover that the job had been done!)
- All of the grandfriends who came to make connections with the children of our community.
- Everyone who helped to make this day as wonderful as it was!
I hope that everyone enjoys the coming weekend, and I encourage you to take some time to reflect on the different things you are grateful for.
There is no Masa until Friday, November 30.
Looking ahead, I hope that families will have the chance to attend the lighting of the Bicycle Menorah on Main Street. On Sunday, December 2nd we honor educators, and on Wednesday, December 5th we honor children. Check out the schedule here for details about the other nights!
The BHA Hanukkah Party will be on December 9th from 11:00 to 1:00. Families are encouraged to join us. The party is a lot of fun!
