Summary |
We have been continuing to learn about the events in the book of Exodus. This week, the children learned that the Israelite people contributed so many gifts to help build the Tabernacle that Moses actually had to tell them to stop bringing gifts! The children of Masa demonstrated that they've got the same wise hearts as the ancient Israelite people. They discussed ways of demonstrating their love for others, and ways to contribute to their community.
All of the students drew some pictures on the theme of "Loving my neighbor looks like this." Some of these pictures will be used as artwork on the BHA Purim boxes!
Our older students are preparing a play that will look at the Purim story from some new angles. What did King Ahasuerus' brother think about this story? How about the famed singer, Cardamom B? And what products did the ancient Persians and Jews buy to make their lives easier? Come to the BHA Purim carnival on March 24th to find out!
Coming up:
Friday: Masa at 4:00, Mini Minyan at 5:30, Kiddush and potluck at 6:00, Shabbat services at 7:00
Sunday: Masa at 9:30.
March 21st (Purim): Kids' Megillah reading at 6:00. Bring a box of pasta to shake, and bring some other non-perishable food to donate to the food pantry.
March 24th: Purim Carnival. Children's Purim play at 11:00, carnival to follow. We will be selling semi-nutritious food as well as tickets for the booths and the raffles!
