It’s almost June, and that means it’s time for the BHA blood drive! It also means that it’s time for the Masa end-of-year picnic.
On June 6th, BHA will host a blood drive at the Beacon Fire Department from 11-5pm. Please check our calendar to sign up for a time to donate. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can sign up in advance. Check out this page for more information. Please reach out to others and encourage them to come and donate! The New York Blood Center is especially short on blood this year because of the ongoing pandemic, and every donation makes a huge difference in someone’s life. I am grateful for the person who donated the blood that saved my life, and I’m sure there is someone close to you who has also benefited.
We will hold the Masa end-of-year picnic from 12-2pm on the grounds of St. Andrew and St. Luke Episcopal Church, 15 South Ave., right next to the fire department. This year, the picnic is open to all members of the BHA community! Let your kids see their friends, and take some time to save a life. Due to health concerns, the picnic will not be a potluck this year, but we will have some socially-distanced activities for kids to do, or they can just spend time playing. Please encourage your children to maintain physical distance when they are not wearing masks (ie, eating).
This has been a challenging year in many ways, and I am looking forward to the chance to get together and celebrate some of what is good!
