Summary |
Way back in 1894, Samuel Beskin, originally of Russia, showed up in Beacon, NY, the first Jew to do so.
Beskin was followed by Affron, Cahn, Fisch, Ginsberg, Green, Lewis, Pearson, Ritter, Werber and many more.
On May 27, 1921, that crew of Jews formally incorporated Beacon Hebrew Alliance.
Now, 95 years later, we are going to celebrate and continue what they started!
Join us for New Members Shabbat and BHA Birthday Party on May 27, 2016!
That first group bought a Torah (1923), built a building (1929), dedicated a cemetery (1930) and more. They were followed by Breslauer, Pirie, Gross, Smith, Alperstein, and then Morenoff, Davidovits, McCredo, Pincus, Slater, Harary and perhaps you?
On May 27, we'll begin at 6:00 PM with a potluck dinner and BHA slide show, followed by learning at 7:00 PM and davvening at 7:30. If you'd like to help put the program together, please be in touch with Cantor Ellen Gersh.
Please come out on the 27th to celebrate where we've been, where we are and where we are going!
