Summary |
The last public event we had in our building was the Purim Carnival on March 8, 2020.
The next public event we will have in our building will be this coming Friday, October 29, 2021!
After exactly 600 days, I am delighted to share that we will again be having services in our communal home at 331 Verplanck Avenue. Of course, that doesn’t mean that things are going back exactly to the way they were.
Here are some particulars about how things will be organized.
-
We are only welcoming vaccinated individuals ages 12 and up. Children 11 and under are welcome. We are relying on your honor and truthfulness; unvaccinated people are not permitted in the BHA building at this time.
-
Everyone inside the building will need to wear a mask over their nose and mouth.
-
We will not be eating or drinking inside the building; at the end of davvening on Friday nights, we will make kiddush outdoors before going our separate ways.
-
Adult learning will be on Zoom at https://bit.ly/BHAFridayShabbat and davvening will be available on line through the BHA facebook page.
-
We will not fill the building to more than 50% capacity.
-
We do not have any air filtration or purification system in place.
I want to express tremendous gratitude to the board of BHA for working out these guidelines, and particularly to Dr. Paul Ostrovsky, who has been an invaluable resource in drawing up these guidelines.
I recognize that not everyone will be comfortable with this arrangement. That’s okay - if this doesn’t work for you, please stay home and join us on-line! If you have thoughts and opinions about alternate arrangements you think we should have made, please feel free to share them with the board via our president, Jesse Lunin-Pack.
With gratitude to the source of all life,
Rabbi Brent
