Mincha Service with naming for Baby Boy Weintraub Simkovic
Saturday, July 27, 2019 • 24 Tammuz 5779
3:00 PM - 4:00 PMBeacon Hebrew AllianceEvery seventh day we are called to step out of the world as it is, and re-imagine the world as it ought to be. To stand on the margins of society rather than deep within it, and see – with new perspective – what is broken, what is beautiful and what is possible. We take this holy task very seriously.
This Shabbat, we are particularly excited to formally welcome the newest member of our community, Baby Boy Weintraub Simkovic!
At BHA, Shabbat forms the rhythm of our lives, reminding us that things need not be as they are – in our lives, in our community, in the world. And it is the reminder that each of us is surrounded by blessings – hidden and revealed – but often we must SLOW DOWN to recognize and celebrate the abundance.
Mincha - the afternoon service - has in its very name the aspect of rest, of calmness, of release. We hope you will come and be part of this service of song, of learning, of silence, of longing.
