Birkat Halevana-Blessing of the Moon
Monday, July 8, 2024 • 2 Tammuz 5784
8:30 PM - 9:30 PMLocation given upon registration.Ruach was born to connect us to the cycle of the year, the life-cycle, and each other. What better time to honor that connection than the arrival of the new moon! It is a longstanding Jewish tradition to bless the renewal of the moon once each month. Called Birkat Halevana––"blessing of the moon"–– in Sephardic tradition (Kiddush Levana––"sanctification of the moon"–– in Ashkenazic), the ritual is generally performed between the third and seventh nights of the new moon. Join us each month as we embrace this ancient tradition anew!
