A Snowy Weekend

The snow last Sunday made this a quieter weekend than we planned. I hope that everyone was able to stay warm and safe!

I want to let parents know that if your cell phone plan is from Verizon, you will not receive updates via Remind as text messages after January 28. If you sign up for emails or download the app, you will continue to receive updates. If your cell phone service is from another provider, you will continue to receive text messages if you have signed up for them. There are more details here.

On Friday, we continued to learn about collective responsibility. Our students will be creating a postcard writing station to let others know about issues they care about, and to give everyone a way of contacting their representatives. Even children can have a voice in a democracy!

They also did some artwork to decorate our tables for Friday night potlucks. I know that you will enjoy their artwork as you share a meal with our community!

This weekend, I will be attending a conference to learn about ways of deepening our work in creating a better world. The teachers and students at Masa will do activities to observe both Tu B’Shevat and Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. I am looking forward to seeing what they share with all of us!

Coming Up:

Friday Masa: 4:00-6:00
Stories with Rabbi Brent: 4:30-5:00
Mini Minyan: 5:30-6:00
Kiddush and Community Potluck: 6:00
Shabbat Services (all ages): 7:00

Sunday Masa: 9:30-12:30

This week’s journal topic: In this week’s Torah portion, Moses learned to share the responsibility for leading the Jewish people. What are some ways that you help to lead people?
