Days of Awe 5776/2015
Days of Awe 5776/2015
Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippor, known in Hebrew as the Yamim Noraim, are the "Days of Awe," the days on which we have a chance to reflect on the lives we are living and the aspirations we are both pursuing and forgetting.
It’s a time for thinking about who we really are, and accounting for whether we are living in right relationship with ourselves, our family, our friends, and the Holy One of Blessing.
At Beacon Hebrew Alliance, there are no tickets for entry, and everyone is welcome to come for this period of introspection and prayer. However, our space is limited and we ask everyone who is planning on coming to please register so we know how many people to expect.
We know that sometimes, people are looking to connect to the formal, classical majesty of the holidays, and other times, people are looking for a more informal and creative approach to spiritual work.
In a more formal register, we have our services on Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippor; in a more creative register are our services for Selichot, Tashlich and Shabbat Shuva Contemplative Walk. Please follow the links for more information on those programs.
While there is no fee for participating in the holidays at BHA, we do, of course, have expenses and we hope that you will choose to contribute to BHA so we can continue to be a home for vibrant Jewish life in the Hudson Valley.
Finally, if you have any challenges, please email us or call 845.831.2012 x3. If you have questions about what to expect at our services, this FAQ page might help.
