Tu BiShvat Seder: Around the Fire, and on Zoom!
Sunday, January 16, 2022 • 14 Shevat 5782
7:00 PM - 8:00 PMBHA Parking Lot & Zoom Link Upon RegistrationThe Jewish tradition celebrates the New Year four times throughout the year, and on the 15th of the month of Shevat, our agriculturally-focused ancestors would celebrate the Rosh Hashanah of trees and vegetation. 500 years ago, the Kabbalists of Tzfat adapted Tu Bishvat as a moment to celebrate our Divinely human connection to nature and spirit with a mystical feast of wine (or grape juice!) and fruits mirroring the four worlds. Today, Tu Bishvat is an opportunity for reconnection with the earth, celebrating the possibility of growth and rebirth in the depths of the winter, and a moment for reflecting on our responsibilities in a time of ecological upheaval.
Join Cantor Ellen Pearson-Gersh, Rabbinic Intern Rishe Groner, and Kohenet Bekah Starr for a magical journey around the campfire in the BHA Parking Lot, filled with inspirational intention, socially-distanced community and uplifting song and chant. Let’s celebrate nature and our role within it as we appreciate Mother Earth’s abundance and resolve to do better for her future.
Registration for in-person and Zoom closes Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Please note with your registration if you plan to attend in person or virtually (you can alter your attendance selection after registration).
Free to BHA Members, please log in.
$18 for non-members.
